Picnics Included
Situated on nearly two acres of parkland, The Polson lies along the banks of the historic Hoquiam River. Extensive gardens, landscaping, and outdoor machinery displays complement the lovely mansion. You can explore our hillside trail, enjoy the Burton Ross Memorial Rose Garden, and enjoy meals on one of our two picnic tables.
The Museum's replica of the Polson Logging Company blacksmith shop houses the Polson Logging Company's original forge, anvil, and other historic logging tools.
Two steam donkeys an 1890s Lidgerwood and an 1880s Dolbeer give an impressive glimpse into Grays Harbor's steam-powered logging era.
A 1933 Linn Half Track used by the Polson Logging Co. and a 1932 Lamb Speed- Trak built in Hoquiam are also located on the grounds.
Coming Soon! We are currently restoring a 1950s Ross Straddle Carrier. Made operational for use in Hoquiam's Loggers' Playday Parade, the Ross is now stored at the city's service garage. If you're interested in helping with the project, we would welcome your inquiry.
