History Materializes

From photographs, antiques, equipment, and texts — you name it (or donate it) and we have it.

The Polson is home to the most extensive local collection of Grays Harbor history. We actively collect artifacts from past and present, with just one goal in mind, to preserve local history for future generations.

Harbor history is especially well represented in the Polson's photography collection. Numbering twenty-five-hundred items, our collection marks the passing scene in all its geographic and social diversity. We have a window on every scene.

Rollin' on the River

The one to the right is a special favorite, a Fourth of July Log Roll on the Hoquiam River circa 1910. (Makes you want to join in, doesn't it?) Like these Harborites, we offer good times.

A Special Note! Thanks to generous support from the Weyerhauser Company, our nearly 10,000 artifacts are being cataloged. Our database still needs entries. You're welcome to join this state-of-the-art effort or, if you wish, just take a peek.
